About

line The Coalition for the Protection of Indian Children and Families was established by a group of concerned citizens, both Native and non-Native, businesses and organizations – all troubled by the overwhelming number of cases where the Indian Child Welfare Act was, and continues to be, used in ways that preempt the best interest of the child. As a group, we are committed to the following:   As members of the Coalition, we have come together to represent a united front to advocate for our beliefs and to work collaboratively with policy-makers and tribal leaders toward a thoughtful and respectful solution.

“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.
